Here are a couple Michigan State Police Sigarms I've collected over the years.
The first is a model 226, .40 S&W caliber. This was a duty gun, but is in very good condition.

Next up is a Michigan State Police Sigarms model 229, .40 S&W caliber. This 229 is unissued, & unfired.
    ENJOY!

    Nice pair!

I have a 1989 JK dated 226 9mm that was MSP issued. They were not marked MSP, as were the later .40's, such as yours.

Also picked up a 226 Navy with nite sites and the matrix control number bar code and a 229 ice 9mm with the barcode etched on slide its a DAK with nite sites

  9. MSP issued Smith & Wesson Model 640, issued SIG P226 40 S&W, and perviously issued SIG P226 9mm (w/JK date code).

    Laser etched MSP Shield.

MSP issued P226R DAK 40 S&W. The new DAKs don't have the laser etched MSP Shield because SIG advised that it hurt the resale value. I could see another police dept. not wanting them, but I wouldn't think the public would mind the shield on a used SIG.

  11. The new P226R DAKs rolled out to the firearm instructors in April of '08. The rest rolled out to the field over that same year as each district transitioned to the DAK from the DA/SA. I've never seen one of the new P226R DAKs with the laser etched MSP Shield on them. Granted it's a big state, but we were told when we were issued them that the shields were a "no go".
