Since I started to research what Glock I wanted, I have been hearing and reading about folks drooling over gilled Glocks. I have seen pictures and they look OK, but I saw one in person today at my LGS, and to tell you the truth it was ugly to me.

For all of you that gotta have one, here is a new G22 for 5 bills. Not a bad price for what I have seen some of them go for.

I think the Fish Gill is kind of a personal preference thing.
For me it wouldn't make or break a deal. I prefer the std straight type, but could live with fish gills.

I just picked one up, safe queen still packed with copper anti-seize, for $450. I think the gills are nice and wish I had them on my competition 34.

I like the RTF of them more than anything else. The gills just make it a little different than everyone else's. That's a little steep for a G22 RTF since that is the easiest one to find.

At first glance I thought the Glock was actually in a fish tank!

They work better than the straight, better finger purchase for slide manipulation (better grip), but most gun buyers are concerned about "looks" and prefer the "look" of the classic up/down.

I have both, and the gills definitely work better.

The 4 is better but the gill guns are pretty nice gen 3 pistols. The grip was to sharp for many people:supergrin:

It's the uniqueness that is very appealing to many, me included for some reason.

I can imagine myself owning one soon, my LGS has 19 new ones in stock.

They look better and I love the RTF2 grip.

Gills are awesome but I hate the RTF textured grip.

The gills don't go all the way to the edge of the slide, so there are no sharp edges.

Ideally, I'd like a Gen3 frame with Gen4 texture and gills and front serrations on slide.

The RTF2 frame chewed my palm up during a class with many draws from the holster.

I'd swap frames for an OD or FDE one.

Gilled Glocks represent the pinnacle of Glock perfection.

You are wrong if you disagree.

I love the look of my g19 rtf2. The only problem is the grips are too rough and they dig into my side when wearing an iwb holster. I will probably sand them down a bit, but the gills really look awesome, IMO.

I just picked my G22 RTF2 up. I must say, I love the ways the gills help grasp the slide more positive. Also, not to mention, the RTF2 is a huge improvement over my standard g-3 glocks. I can see where if I was to use it as my CCW it might not be as comfortable and more harsh on clothing. Always wanted a g-19 so I think another RTF2 is in my future.

Are the RTF2's still using pre gen4 parts?
What was the last year for these?
