Ok, here it is. This thread is to plan a meetup somewhere, at sometime for all of the Texas resident athiests on the board (neighboring states welcome too, of course). If you're interested in attending then post here and we will try to find a location central to everybody.

I'm definitely interested, although I may or may not be able to actually make it (my work schedule is not sane and I wouldn't want to make the scheduling and/or location be complicated/hard for other people just to ensure that I, one person, make it). I'm in Austin.

I'd come out and meet ya if I lived closer. :wavey:
I just got a headache reading the traditional marriage thread.

You and gunhaver have way more patience than I.

To constantly have someone respond to 2+2=4 with "You still fail to make a logical valid argument", 100 times in a row.... :faint:

If I could make it down...I'd buy you a beer.

I may be off the reservation as a deist but I have more in common with the Atheists here and that sounds like fun. I'm on the Gulf Coast near Galveston. Too far north or west would be out of my range. But hey it's a big State depending on the distribution somewhere around central Texas might be feasible. Great idea Gecko.

Damn work. I never know if I have to work a weekend until Friday afternoon but If I had a weekend off I think it would be a blast.

Maybe we'll make up a holy book like they did at the Council of Nicea.

Meh, not really, but thanks for playing! :wavey:

Back on topic, if you are interested, please be sure to outline your preferred dates (or at least list any that are out of the question). I'm assuming that some weekend will work for most people.

As for me, I got to a four day work week come June and July. So that expands me availability slightly. Do we want to try for a holiday weekend like Memorial Day or July 4th or just go with an ordianry weekend?

I've got family obligations June 9-15. Probably doing things with grandchildren on July 4. Other than that, OK. Just don't pass the plate or sing "Just as I am". I can't do that again.

I'm a Christian and live in Texas.

I would like to attend your meeting, just to add some balance and objectivity to the discussion.

Unless you admit to not caring about objectivity and just want to sit around and pat each other on the back for being narrow-minded.

Let me know when and where via pm.

    Thanks.

Does your preacher allow objectivity in the pulpit? Maybe invite in a Muslim or Atheist now and then?

Wrong again. Thats a science text, not a holy book. Why, I'll bet there aint one "thee", "thou" or "sayeth" in that entire tome!!!:tongueout:

While I would be unable to attend ( The trip from Wyoming would be a bit much:crying:) I would have no objections.

    Hell, I'd buy ya a beer!!:wavey:

I'm way up north but I have a taste for long road trips by myself. No work issues since I'm my own boss and I have people to visit in KC, COMO and OKC along the way. If there's nothing important going on around the time that works best for everyone else I'll make the drive. I haven't been to Texas in 10 years but I'd like to meet most of you guys.

And everybody needs a name badge with their avatar picture on it so we know who's who.

To translate, they said, "We are a religious organization that claims not be a religion, and your imput in their particular denomination of Atheism is not welcome, because you are a heretic and are unworthy. They would also like you remind you that they are very open minded."

Seems as though you missed (again) the only post to reply (so far) to Packsaddle.:dunno:

I'll post it again for your convenience:

June 23rd weekend is busy for me, but I am pretty much free any other time.

This was what I was referring to.

That was followed by your invitation. Like every church, you have the die hards who hate any outsiders, and yourself which is more the welcoming evangelical mindset.

Is concealed carry welcomed, and food afterwards?
