Download an application from the Louisiana State Police website. You can follow the exact process here.

Here's a list of the licensed trainers in the state, but you'd have an easier time just doing the class at Shooter's Club. It's given every Saturday, but call on Wednesday/Thursday just to make sure that there's room available for you. Shooter's is located on David Drive just north of Airline Highway. The sign reads "Jefferson Gun Outlet" or something similar.

    Ages 21 - 64
    $50 for a two-year permit.
    $100 for a four-year permit.

65 Years of Age or Older
    $25 for a two-year permit.
    $50 for a four-year permit.

Training classes tend to run ~$100, regardless.

No, assuming you've got a clear background with no history of mental illness, criminal activity, or medical issues.

Application will probably take you a couple of hours to fill out. It asks for old addresses, etc.

The training class is about 8 hours, mostly classroom, with qualifying time on the range.

The wait after submitting the application + training certificate is something like a month.

Excellent. I'm in NOLA, but always good to hear of another good guy carrying.

Glad to hear it. Lakeview could use some new residents. Good folks out there, but they need more bodies to help bring the area back.

Visit http://louisianacarry.org and click on "Permits." We tried to make it as clear and simple as possible. Even made a printable list of what you will need to mail.
