I was picking up some crab traps at Walmart today, took a peek at the ammo cabinet.

50 round box of Federal Champion 9mm was 12.97. Could this be right, maybe mis labeled? I've been buying in bulk online for about 9-9.50 a box/50 Blazer Brass with shipping of around 16 bucks for 20 boxes.

Walmart was the spot before I bought online to save on sales tax (9.5% here). 6 months ago I swear Walmart prices were under $11.00.

The Federal Champion in 100 round pack is $18.97 at Walmart but only when in stock. In my area there are two types of super Walmarts and only the larger carries the 100 round pack. I'd suggest you call before you go to see whats in stock first.

Yes, the Fed Champion 50 pack was 12.97 per box.

They are out of stock most often so I'm looking to buy online but only in volume to reduce shipping costs per round.

Does anyone write dates and prices on their ammo boxes?

    Around 2003-2004 a box of 9mm was $5 How's that for scary?

Buy it cheap and stack it deep folks.

Remington UMC .45ACP x 50rd box was $27.99 at the local Bass Pro last weekend. Got a nice chuckle out of that one.

I seriously don't know of anything at that store that isn't overpriced.

I dont see fed champion for that cheap at my wal mart. They have 50rd boxes for like $12.97. White box junk is $23.97/100rds. I'd shoot tul ammo over white box.

I only buy the 100 count packs of Federal, 'Champion' from Wal-Mart. 9mm is, indeed, $19.95 per box. You can, also, get a half case of 500 rounds for $99.00 (I know, big savings!) I like the 100 count packs. I get them in 45 ACP, too.
