Me and a girl are planning on flying out march 7th thru the 11th and I'm not positive where to stay it'll be my first time.I Have a 750 suite at Mandalay bay booked for now but I have a no hassle cancelation policy on it.I figured I'd ask around and see if anyone has a better suggestion.Id like a nice hotel with plenty of things to do at night as far as lounges and clubs go.As far as I can tell mandalay has a nice selection of places to drink with a good view and a nice pool area.Neither of us plan on gambling much so the casino isn't a make or break deal for us.Im 25 she's 23 so really all we care about is a nice room and plenty of places to drink at the hotel.I know Mandalay is at the end of the strip so if I can save the 30$ cab rides every night and get a more central hotel I'm ok with that

Anywhere else I should check out while I'm there? I'm probably abit younger than most here but I think most people go to Vegas for similar reasons lol

    Thanks ahead of time

My wife and I stayed at the Mandalay Bay, and it wasn't that great. A business suite at th Suncoast off strip cost less than half the price, and was a much much nicer room. Stay off strip if you can, IMO.

I stayed in the MGM last year, and I thought it was fine. It was my first time in Vegas, so I couldn't really compare it to any of the other hotels there. The room and shower/bathroom were clean. The A/C wasn't freezing how I like it, but it didn't stop me from sleeping good. I had the larger room compared to my friends since I paid alittle extra for the Bungalow upgrade.

My friends and I walked most of the strip when we were just sightseeing. Only time we taxi'd was when we were going from one end of the strip to the other, or after a late night when walking just wasn't in the cards.

We also took a tram from the MGM all the way to the Sahara(if its still there, it was on its final weekend when I was there). It had a few stops in between at different hotels also.

Planet Hollywood is centrally located on the strip and is perfect for the 21-35 age group. The rooms were good when I went I stayed in a Hollywood hip room with the fountain views. I would never stay off the strip taxi rides are pricey when your stuck in nighttime traffic.

Any of the hotels on the strip are great. If its your first time you definitely need to stay on the strip. My favorite hotel is the residence inn about two blocks away. I love Vegas but the residence inn lets you escape all the noise.

I do like the prices off the strip better but this being my first time I'd like to get a strip view and get the full Vegas experience of overpriced hotels and drinks lol

Thanks I'll check it out,I'm in the same boat I'd rather walk and see the Vegas weirdos but I know after a long night/morning a taxi will be more my speed

I heard pH was pretty fun for the younger crowd but it wasn't much less money when I was looking at all and it diddnt have very good reviews.I guess I'll check it out again and watch some YouTube videos
    Thanks

I've always been a big MGM fan, recently I started at Planet Hollywood and I gotta say they're very close.

I've stayed at everyplace from TI to Luxor and about a dozen places in between. My favorites though are by far MGM and PH

Been there several times and, if you are not on a tight budget, we really enjoyed the Aria last time we were there.

Some interesting, "off the map" places to visit while you are there:

    1. National Atomic Testing Museum - http://www.nationalatomictestingmuseum.org/ Very cool place!

    2. The Neon Museum - http://www.neonmuseum.org/index.php Advance reservations required, but you can see dozens of signs from now gone casinos.

    3. The Mob Museum - http://themobmuseum.org/ Haven't been to this one, but heard it was fun.

I'll really have to look into PH again then, would be nice to save a couple bucks as a guy I get stuck with the bill anyway

I think we'll have to pass ,she might have been cool if it was all girls lol

Thank you the nuclear museum looks pretty cool.Im not on any kind of real budget but I would like to get my money's worth for everything.im pretty use to 450$ dollar hardrock rooms down by me so aslong as the place is nice we are ok.Most of what is going to be spent Will be drinks and good food anyway

Well PH has shopping and such under it too so that should make it a little bonus feature.

My lady and I just got back from Vegas, we stayed at the new hotel Aria. It was awesome! When you first walk in the room, your tv turns on with music, all the lights turn on and the blinds open. It was unexpected and made quite the impression. There was even a smart remote for the whole room that controlled the ac, tv, and lights. It had settings for goodnight and romance along with others. The room was well decorated and the bathroom was very nice as well. Privacy glass stall with separate bath and shower.

It connects with monte carlo and some of the other new citi center hotels. The gambling was a bit much with very few 10$ tables and no 5$ tables whatsoever. On sunday when we left there was nothing under 15$. Not sure about the prices on everything else I haven't a clue because the entire trip was comped!

Planet Hollywood... you'll thank me later. What could be better than free drinks, gambling, and half naked college hotties dancing on top of tables as you piss away your life savings.

Also easy to pick up a chick to take back to the room. Just look for the lonely girl sitting at a slot machine with stiletto heels and a "come and get it" grin.

We always do the Monte Carlo. It's the best deal out there. It's really nice inside, has multiple pools (wave pool, lazy riverish one, and a normal one) that has a dj outside on the weekends. Lots of young people, it's right on the strip within walking distance to everything. It's super cheap compared to most places in vegas without being all ghetto. We also brought/bought bottles and kept them in the room and brought drinks in red cups down to the pools during the day which was a nice cheap supplement to the crazy prices they charge for drinks.
Go dancing at Pure and Tao....good times. If you are there on a Sunday Rehab @ the Hard Rock is fun times too.

You'd like the Cosmopolitan it's a great hotel for the mid 20's to the mid 30's age group. Club Marquee is fun as well especially the pool during the day, but I'm pretty sure that the pool closes this week? I'll stay at the MGM or Cosmo when I'm in town, but definitely checkout the Cosmo.
