Well since I asked about hair metal thought I'd ask about modern day rock bands. So who are some of your favorites??

I'm Gonna start with Tool and the Foo Fighters!

What is a modern day rock band? One that is still relevant or one that is fairly new?

Social Distortion has been rocking since the 70s, I'm pretty sure.

I was thinking more along the lines of bands starting in the last five years or so. I don't think I could even name a rock band that new.:dunno:

For me, I can't think of any modern day rock band I like. I wish I could, but I just can't.

Lots of older bands that are still active I like, but I think the newest band I like is Rise Against and they have to be almost 15 years old now.

I'm more a metal guy, but of the more 'mainstream' stuff out there, the Strokes.

My favorite modern day rock band is Godsmack. I've been listening to Five Finger Death Punch a lot lately too.

Not sure if you'd call them Rock or not but I'll go with Drive By Truckers. I think maybe the best description would be Alternative Souther Rock.

Grace Potter when she plays electric guitar. Or sings with Gov't Mule. Or this one; she plays keyboards and dances at the same time (6:41)

Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (ft. Warren Haynes) "2:22"
