What is the allure of the G10 starburst grips. I've always preferred the rubber over the ivory and wood versions. What are some of your favorite 1911 grips. I love Nighthawk guns but the only thing I never liked was the gator grips. I know there are so many choices out there. Why would one be the best or chose on over the other. The rubber grips, like on the Kimber Custom II or S&W 1911 PD 5' feel better and more comfortable in my hand. Any pics would also be nice. :wavey:

I love Pachmayrs on mine, reliable and inexpensive.

My Springer came with cocobolos. I love the look of them. At the time, I was all about rubber, so I bought a pair of Hogues. Felt fine, but ugly. Friend gave me a coupon for a free set of Larry Davidson G10 grips. I ordered a Wyrm pattern and love it. Very aggressive pattern and looks awesome.

Having tried almost all of them I have come full circle back to basic checkered wood grips on 1911s. The other have alot to offer but the basic wood grips has the best overall feel to me. Gotta love the choices of grips these days though.

I concur. Esmerelda has the bomb diggy. I really like this local Father/Son team's stuff too. My younger Bro bought some for my Dad for Father's Day last year. Nothing too fancy. Smooth and light in color, with a nice dark grain to contrast. I'm putting them on the Fusion I'm building him now.

I really like VZ grips. I'll eventually try some nice walnut grips if I can find some with a good enough grip. Anybody have any feedback on Nill grips?

No the material is not Esmeralda, although she makes them.

    Micarta I presume.

I really dig the horned lizards.

I like VZ Recons, Davidson's Horned Lizards, and Buckeye Burl grips from Sarge.
