I just got a 20SF and when picking up the casings there is a pretty good gouge in the case from extraction. Is this normal?

Any more than very minor scratches is not normal. It is steel against brass afterall, so there will be marks from time to time. Jump in THIS THREAD for a very similar condition.

I get a little extractor rash on the case rims using my hotter loads, with both my 20SF and 29SF. It is never anything that inhibits sliding into the shellplate of my Dillon though.
