The "loophole" that needs to be closed is Our DearLeader's use/abuse of Executive Order to ram down our throats anything and everything that he pleases and cannot get by any other means.

Perhaps they're getting some real pushback. Just saw a spot on Fox News that said that Biden was backing away from executive orders. Absolutely necessary.

Bypassing Congress (no matter how useless they are) is a violation of the Constitution.

Our "leader" only thinks he's King, we never elected him to be. Don

The EO thing is overblown and I'm sick of hearing about it. If it's so all-powerful, why is Obama not issuing dozens every day and just getting done what he wants to get done?

Here's a challenge. Find the most egregious EO Obama has yet issued and let us know what it is. The readers can decide just how much of threat EOs are in reality

You appear to be confusing two different things: executive privilege is the long standing claim that members of the executive branch do not have to testify in some cases, and has been used by numerous presidents including Richard Nixon who abused it the most egregiously.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_privilege

If you claim a president is "ramming something down your throat", I assume you mean he is using the power of executive orders which is completely unrelated.

The power of EO is limited and can be overturned if said EO conflicts with law or established precedent.

If you are subscribing to the myth that Obama is using EO's more than predecessors, read this:

I hate it when those stinking liberal presidents make a big power grab that takes away our constitutional rights..... don't you?

    http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2005/09/10/court_backs_bush_on_detainee/

Oh, wait.... that's right, he wasn't a "liberal" so I guess his trampling of the constitution was OK.

And, it's not really important that he claimed he had the right to start a war anytime he thought somebody was a threat?

I mean, it's not like the constitution specifically assigned the power to wage war to the congress to keep the POTUS from becoming a warlord or dictator.... oh, that's right. It does.

Oh, well. As long as it's some redneck yahoo conservative president, whatever he does in the way of shredding the constitution must be OK.

Don't remember hearing any voices back then.

Alizard, you make some good points but one question isn't answered. If Obozo is threatening to make end runs around Congress regarding gun control, why should we think it isn't inappropriate and probably not in accordance with the 2nd Amendment? He has an awful record of anti gun votes and attitudes. Don
