Ethanol is a huge scam pushed on us. Many have been screaming this for years.

I own a boat so I'm pretty in tune with all this. Up until recently, marine engine manufacturers did not build their engines to deal with ethanol and as a result, it has absolutely wreaked havoc on countless engines' fuel systems. If you're worried about it, use Marine Sta-Bil or Startron to help neutralize the effects.

Lots of people say that 10% ethanol is mandated for all stations yet many stations here advertize 100% gasoline no ethanol. Some on the interstate with huge neon signs. Anybody know for sure? And whats the penalty for advertizing no ethanol and selling you ethanol anyway?

It goes state by state. Non-ethanol is usually geared for the marine crowd, but a lot of motorcyclists with plastic tanks need it because the ethanol causes tank bloat. And people who understand that ethanol gets worse mpg will seek out real gas as well.

Penalties? Who knows, that's probably a huge bureaucratic mess to navigate if you got some bad gas, but you can buy portable testers to test the gas before you buy a ton of it.
