    Given the recent little problem in the Gulf, the idea that oil companies should be subjected to rigorous oversight makes sense. Don't agree? Just go ask the folks whose livelihoods and property has been damaged. Go ask the folks who had to deal with the consequences of the Exxon Valdez "accident."
