I was taking a look at the 5.11 Moab 10

    Any experience with these types?

My thoughts are that if I'm carrying off body I sure don't want it to look like I'm carrying off body. I'd just get an anonymous messenger bag that has features you like. I don't get bags that scream I'm carrying a gun in my bag please hit me on the head and steal it since I can't get to it quickly.

I like the tacticool stuff but they do give you away pretty easy. Maxpedition has several "stealth" colors out there. Do that or get a nice messenger bag and install a velcro field if need be and add the Crossbreed Ohai that ia specifically made for bag carry.

    I recommend the Maxpedition Gleneagle.

ehh, I don't really like the way it hangs/sits on body. I prefer something more like a back pack

I was looking at the Sitka but not really ambidextrous and the gun pocket/pouch is kinda weird..

Ill keep looking at their stuff.

Wow that seems like a great deal...some type of setup as moab for a fraction of the price.

You do have a point but this can be true for any bag...especially a laptop bag or any bag that may fit a laptop for that matter:

Simple case of soft vs. hard target theory

What seems to be an unarmed person with a possible ~$1000 piece of electronic > What seems to be a person carrying a ~$600 gun who can quite possibly end up reaching for it and/or have one on their person.

I also tend to think that if someone were able to identify the bag and subsequently assume I' am carrying, they'd be less likely to be a delinquent "capable" of such an act.

I have to lug around all sorts of crap for my regular job; gps, laptop, paperwork, staple gun, duct tape, camera, etc and I just use a well made plain jane regular everyday backpack. No molle straps, no strap mounted compass, no paracord bundles or quick deploying body armor or ccw sash.

I carry a whip with mine and everyone thinks I'm just a cool Professor of Archaeology instead of a gun touting crazy.

I don't "carry" a bag but I leave one in the car with a 1st aid kit and batteries and stuff that I might need but don't need on my person.

I love my maxped versipak, but I don't normally carry it with me. It's in the car when I'm out and about, and my gun only goes in it on the way too & from work, where it gets locked in the car safe (the gun, not the bag). I do take the bag into work with me, since it usually holds my earbuds, loose change, asprin, ect.. It's a great place to carry all the crap I would normally have to carry in my pockets, and it's tough as nails.

The Emerson La Griffe goes around my neck but the chain just broke and I didn't have a replacement lying around. I should have another this weekend.

I haven't had the 'bag', a Maxpedition mini pocket organizer, for long. I'm still playing around with the contents.

Currently they are simple. Eyeglasses, chewable pink stuff, ibuprofen, some bandages and related items, a tube with 2xCR123s, Leatherman and a few small items.

The bag/pocket organizer goes in a cargo pocket. I just can't personally EDC an actual murse.

I started EDC'ing a 5.11 Moab Rush 6 this week. It is about as big of a bag I would want to carry period. I am a little guy (5-7, 160) and carrying all of the stuff I wanted to carry was becoming a bit cumbersome.
