A great old song...for all of the GREAT old memories I am blessed with....
and for all of the great new memories I am blessed to make each day.

I had a great day...today. But I never forget those I've met, befriended and loved along life's journey!

I may make this the LAST Friday night music thread, if there's no interest any longer. It's been great! :sadangel:

But I might be here until LATER tomorrow...

I'll be SOMEWHERE at 5 o'clock!!

 :wavey:

I'll probably drop by from time to time....but I need to keep my distance for a little while, and focus on a few other priorities in my life right now.

I know that I've said this before, but this time, I really need to do this.

Please pray for me.

This won't be easy for me.

Thanks for all the fun we've shared here over the past few years...Ray, Agent, Blast, AND Rick.....and everyone else.

Don't forget about me!

I hope that you are all okay!

We had a few days last week that were intense from the storms!

I'm celebrating that tutoring after school four nights a week is over for me for the year! :woohoo:

I was asked to tutor for the primary grades after FCAT, but I said, "ONLY if you run really short handed!" I'm praying that doesn't happen. NEVER again will I do it on Friday night! That is just NOT right!!!

Have to admit, when I gave my students my little inspirational speech tonight, I got teary eyed and choked up, which ended up by me getting attacked by hugs from my little children! :hearts: :hugs: They really are sweet kids!

The simple things in life are the things that keep you happy!

Zac Brown has his own take on that!

Life is GOOD today!

I do NOT like the YOU tubes with commercials!

My favorite Zac Brown!!! (Love going to my mom's hometown in the summertime, meeting my friends from my youth, and going to square dancing on Friday and Saturday nights!) In high school, I don't think we would have seen ourselves there some.......____years later!

HELP!!!

I am listening to a list of songs that my fifth graders gave me today that they would "like" for me to use in the slideshow that I'm making for them for their "graduation day" on June 9th.

I let them hear a sample of songs...inspirational....that I've used in the past few years today in class.

The class I had today gave me some thought provoking songs....and a wide range of songs.

The "nice-nice" songs I want to play, thinking of them as innocent children just might not cut it this year. They gave me a list of about 12 songs today...the most reasonable list of any 5th grade class yet.

I am not so sure, after all that has happened in our world this year that "nice-nice" is really what the kids want this year. :sadangel:

Just a "sample" of what they wrote down for me to "research" tonight...
YES...the kids chose ALL of these!

Michael Jackson "Earth Song"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAi3VTSdTxU&feature=relmfu

(several MJ songs)

I'm not so sure that they "understand" MJ's childhood....yet again, many of them don't have the best of childhoods. One little girl doesn't have a photo of her when she was a baby...she's living in Foster homes....:crying:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFAmwsiz8Ls

AND surprisingly, this one!

I think this will make the cut...but a shorter version!

MJ's We are the World

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcwblvqir-s

I have a couple more to look up. I'll post if they have a chance.

What do you think of these for a graduation ceremony with teachers, principals, students, and parents?

Well....there are a few more, but I already know how I feel about them!

Nope! No WAY!!!

I'm not reaching for the old time "Inspiration on Blueberry Hill" though I do believe some of my fifth graders ARE!!!!

I think they could teach me a thing or two!

Any other suggestions of TASTEFUL, INSPIRATIONAL, popular music for elementary school graduation would be appreciated!

Thanks!!!:wavey:

Sorry... But I'm no help.....

All I can think of is Out Behind the Barn and May the Bird of Paradise by Little Jimmy Dickens  neither one is appropriate.
