Dreadnaught AR build :)

    Hey all, just thought I'd share my little project.

    Started with the Dreadnaught lower, and set it up with their adj trigger lower kit, and a Hogue grip...

    Rest of the lower goodies came in today. :supergrin: MOE stock, tube, spring, and Spike's/DSA buffer.

    The Spike's 16" A3 upper, M16 BCG, and charging handle should be in on Mon or Tues, but I went ahead and did a trial assembly with the upper from my M&P15 Sport.

    Can't wait for that upper to come in! Just gotta figure out what all I'm going to dress her out with, lol.

    Thanks man! Ya, I'm having a blast with it. Have bought a couple different ARs, but always wanted to put one together myself. Did a full tear-down of a Bushy a few years back, and fell in love with the simplicity of the modular design.

    And now that I'm a mechanic with a broken wrist, lol, need something to keep my "tinker addiction" in check! :whistling:

    This thing will probably transform several times as time goes along, lol. Ultimately, it'll likely end up with a long range set-up. That Dread lower is a work of art, the Spike's upper is a temporary thing. Feels like putting Keystone wheels on a Ferrari. But it's a good start, get her going & I can change her up later.

    I wish they would have used BB35 (USS Texas) as the model for the logo, now that would have been freaking awesome!

    Not finished yet, but she's technically a functional rifle now!

    I really like the feel of the mid-length, I've only had carbines prior to this. With the extra length, I didn't want the added weight of full quadrails, hence the Magpul MOE handguards.

    I've got some of the Magpul brand add-on "polymer" rail sections. But does anybody know of a good quality aluminum rail that fits properly on this handguard?

    I've seen alot of the dreadnaught builds over on TGT and they are nothing short of awesome! Congrats on a sweet rifle. I'm hoping build one soon myself.

    Cool, ya the fit & finish on this is unbelievable. You can get 'em Direct from DI for $130 for the stripped lower, when you can get a hold of him, lol.

    Apparently, there's also a gunshop in Pleasanton TX that's carrying these lowers now.
