For the money it is a decent AR, but doesn't include sights which will cost you anywhere between $150 & $250.

You can get a Spike's for $800 or you can build. I built one with a Spikes upper and PSA lower for $750 total.

Do a search on DPMS and you will find most have low opinions of them. I had one and never had a problem with it, but I never ran it hard either.

    This will not end well...........
If your getting it for $500 then buy it. If it's more then $600 buy something else. You can get a better AR for $200 more then what DPMS sells for.
Personally I had one & never had a problem & I did run it hard. But price points are closer now then a few years ago. Makes no sense to skimp the few hundred dollar difference.

If you shop a bit you can get a Stag or S&W for not much more. You will be getting a much better gun from a company that will back the product. DPMS is owned by Cerubus who also ownes Bushmaster and Remington. Cerubus also used to own Chrysler and ran it into the ground. I don't trust them for the long haul
