I got the urge for some mexican food so I took my wife to lunch today. Don Pablos is one of my favorite chains. I got the Three Amigos with side of refried beans and spanish rice. Wifey got the burrito bowl. Very good and filling too. tom.:eat:

I used to really like DP's. The last time the wife and I went it was not what it used to be. Now it's out of business.

No more Don Pablo's in my area...it is no Los Cabos (Excellent Food, Expensive) and Ted's (Decent Food, Great Tortillas, Expensive) and now Chuy's (Good Price, Amazing Steak Burrito, Decent Salsa).

Taco Bell has ruined me...its how I think Mexican should taste.....now when I have the 'real' stuff, the ol taste buds cannot compute.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure if I ever had real mexican food I'd think it wasn't cooked right or something.tom.:embarassed:

I like DP's. I get the same thing almost every time, the 3 amigos. There used to be one in Asheville and we'd go just to eat there and one day we went and it was closed. Last one left within 2 hrs is in Knoxville. We hit it about once a year when travelling through. Since our El Chico went out, we usually go to a place in Pigeon Forge called No Way Jose's. OMG, it's so freakin' good, I might have to go tonight just because I thought about it.

Chuck that sounds like a good idea for dinner. I like the Three Amigos too. I'll get that or El Matador. The middle sized draft beer and love those chips and salsa.tom.:eat:

My problem with Don Pablos is that I DO like Mexican food. Don Pablos is heavily into the Tex side in TEX-MEX cuisine. Real Mexican food is SPICEY, not bland.

We don't have DPs. I prefer the taco trucks over big chains.

We don't have taco trucks. There are some street vendors over a boro or two. All the lawn care pros eat there.tom.
