    Doing The Chicken?

I knew a Vietnam vet who served 2 tours as a door-gunner running an M60. Every once in a while he would talk about what that was like and he often referred the VC “doing the chicken”. I have always thought that I understood just what he meant but I never questioned him as he would sort of run down and stop talking while staring off into the distance. He had been wounded a couple of times over there.

I assume that “ doing the chicken” must refer to headshots and the results? Perhaps thus is too much of a family forum to even go this far?

My son is an Army SSgt. MP with the 82nd now serving his 3 tour in Iraq. He has made about 7 practice jumps and now proudly wears his wings. i always wished I had jumped and earned my wings.
