A story on the front page of th Dec 17th Lincoln Jounal Star paper tells how a man was shot when his hunting dog stepped on his gun that was sitting on the tailgate of a pickup. Without getting into the specifics of the story, one paragraph caught my eye,and I'm kindof surprised it got printed. "Despite the high-profile nature of hunting accidents, state game officials said, hunting has a lower injury rate than golf, bowling and ping-pong."
That's one statistic that just blew me away! Oh yeah, the article goes on to say- Chase, the chocolate lab, faces no known punishment! "It's not the dog's fault" stated the sheriff.
