A black 4" lightweight, railed, bobtailed gun???
You can order one that way from one of the semi-custom makers. Nighthawk, Wilson, and I assume Ed Brown.
Kimber TLE RL2 and have it bob'd or get a DW Guardian (4.25") or STI Ranger2 (4.25") and add a Dawson Rail.
Can a Dawson rail be installed on a commander length frame?
I don't think the dust cover is that much shorter is it? I've seen a few pics of them. There is a slight overhang at the end of the dustcover but it can be done.
At one time Sring.Armory did make a LWT.Champion Operator. Don't know if they still do.
Yes they still make it.
That's you're one option and then get it bobtail. There was one on this board for sale, but recently just sold.
That would be the route I would go. Send it to SACS and have them checker the FS, carry bevel, remove the ambi, and bobtail. That would be a nice ass pistola.
Yup, thats what I meant. Thanks for clarifying.
Thanks for all the replies everyone... I love that Bobbed LW Operator Champion... Anybody have any good pics of a 1911 with a Dawson Rail added to it?
There are plenty of 5" w/Dawson pics out there. From my Google search-fu I was able to find a few commanders with a Dawson. From what I read...you would have to have a smith do it as they (DP) only install on 5" guns.
