I usually don't order pizza anyway, but i did today because i was just lazy.....

Ordered Papa Johns special, and after the $3 "delivery fee" plus the tip, my $11 pizza cost almost $20.......

not to mention, tastes like crap........

these chain-stores are just over-priced, bland garbage, IMO.....

where can i get some good pizza????????

We have a multitude of pizza/Italian joints here so I don't have to buy fast food pizza...

So why'd you order it? :dunno:

Not from Papa John's, tell you that much!

Where are you (geographically, I mean)? Best to get recommendations from someone local. Here in Chicago I can recommend a couple of dozen places if you happen to be near here.

If you're going to cook your own pizza, start from scratch. It really doesn't take that much longer that frozen, tastes better, and is far cheaper.

I sometimes do in a pinch (with 4 and 2 year old boys at home) but my local grocery store sells fresh uncooked dough in the bakery section so I usually make my own. Moat frozen pizza is horrible. Costco also has decent take home and cook but not frozen pizza.

We have a few good local joints, but I'm not a fan of most chains. I think digiorno is way better than most chains.

I tried that. Bought pizza/bread dough from the supermarket. I put on a ton of weight trying to do it correctly. Also, clean up is a pain.

But I now have a pizza stone that I can use for something - any suggestions?

That's what I usually expect and what we usually get, so I am never disappointed.

(The independent local ones are usually better that the chain places.)

If there is a sals restaurant. They have pretty good pizza for a chain.

If I don't go to that place I go to a place very close to me. It's by far the best Italian food I have had here.

We like the Wal-Mart Deli Pizzas. A huge 16 inch cheese is $6.00. Add your own toppings, and seasoning and you're GTG.

wow I must be really unpicky to a fault. I think Papa Johns is fantastic, though Papa Murphy's is my favorite. then again, some of my other favorite foods are bologne, ramen, spam and scrapple. I guess it all has to do with what you were raised on.

One of the great things about living in NJ. I have a pizza place about 100 yds from my house that makes fresh, awesome pizza and lots of other stuff too. If I want a change, I have a multitude of other awesome places a short drive away (many deliver too). Typical pies cost $10-11.

I have *never* eaten from Papa Johns or Dominoes, etc.

    You have my pity.

Dominoes' campaign to improve quality is not just an advertising gimmick. The location near me is putting out really good pizza. I was surprised as I remember when Dominoes tased like cardboard with marinara and cheese on it. $7.99 carry-out special Mon-Wed!

I love me some pizza hut papa Murphy's is pretty good but if I am going to have to cook my own pizza I'm not paying $20 bucks for it.

Mama Lisa's in Somerville made great delivery pizza.

I suck it up the 3-4 times a year I don't want to go out or make my own. Not fantastic, but fine.
