I have no problem with open carry. But I prefer to not advertise that I have a gun so others can adjust their attack accordingly. Also I do not think it is necessary to go around looking like Rambo and have people wonder what kind of crazy you are.
The wording on the question is erroneous from the start. Free people have the right to own and carry guns in public, nobody "allows" it any more than people are "allowed" to voice their opinions without being arrested. The question should read, "Should the government illegally imprison innocent people for carrying guns in public." But I guess to the statists at NBC, that's hard to wrap their mind around.
While concealed is how I carry and I can't think why I would want to open carry, it is not my right, nor yours, to infringe on someone else's 2A right by making them carry concealed. Therefore, I disagree with you.
Yes, amd I believe that all states should have constitutional carry. Some states make you jump through a lot of loops, and pay an absurb amount of money, just to be able to do something that we should already be able to do.
Yup. Constitutional carry recognized across all 50 states. Alas, never gonna happen. Be freakin' lucky if we get CCW permit reciprocity across MOST states and even then I fear it'll require some kinda stupid national permit or some common training program that'll cost you an arm and a leg to procure.
Personally, I'd like to see pro-gun states refuse to recognize DLs and MLs from any state that does not recognize their CCW permits. That'd be awesome!!! ... hehe, drive thru our state and we'll lock you up!
Yes. But common sense should apply . Going open carry with an AR15 to get eggs is not the correct tool for the job. Try a Pistol... May work better for ya.
Absolutely yes. I'm not a fan of open carry, and I never do it. That being said, anyone who can legally purchase a handgun, IMO, has the right to carry however they wish.
I don't really care what the second amendment says or what the general public thinks:
I want to protect myself and my family.
Until the government guarantees that I'll never be confronted by an attacker or group of attackers and unable to survive, then I will carry the great equalizer, which is a pistol

I see that you are new to this forum. Welcome aboard. I assume from your photo that you are a Marine. I salute you and thank you for your service. Don't know your current status, doesn't really matter, but you will find that the term " common sense " gets used here frequently. The majority of members tend to agree that " common sense " is in short supply in this country these days. Once again, Welcome. First shot.
Thanks It's an honor to serve. You right common sense is not common with gun laws , or anything now a day for that matter lol.. but specially with gun laws.
Yes.
Full Constitutional carry, throughout the country.
In fact, there should be no such thing as PROHIBITED PERSON.
If one cannot be trusted with a firearm, they should be locked up.
If one is deemed to never again be trusted with a firearm, they should be executed.
Of course, all of those ticky-tack or revenge reasons for taking someone's gun rights away would have to be reworked so that only actual bad guys would be stripped of their gun rights.
Yes, concealed and open. Handguns only within city limits.
No felons, most don't turn their lives around. **** em. I suppose we could look at it case by case for non violent offenders. But I really don't think it's worth the effort.

One man's rights are worth the effort. Once debts are paid and you're not the violent type you should get all your rights back. Violent types should have to wait 20-25 years to prove they are nonviolent before getting gun rights back.

Maybe your effort not mine. I don't get all wrapped up in ideology, I deal in reality. Don't want to lose your gun rights, don't commit a felony. I'm OK with how it is.
OK, let's start deciding what we will "allow" people to do. There are many people who should not be "allowed" to have children. That actually would solve more problems than not allowing people to have guns.
If we're going to control people for their own good, let's deal with the most serious problems first. There are at least 12 states that "allow" residents to carry in public with no permit and they don't seem to have any serious problems as a result.
I live in a state where I am allowed to carry in public and I can chose to carry openly or concealed and I only need a permit to carry concealed and I don't need to pass a test or take a class to get a permit. All that's required is a background check. My state has had this system since the 1960's and has not had any problems in 50 years with people being allowed to carry guns.
The rate of violent crime for my state was 284.4 offenses per 100,000 city inhabitants in 2015. Nationally, the estimated rate of violent crime was 383.2 per 100,000 city inhabitants.
Of course We The People should carry weapons in public. No "allowed" about it.
