What! Did you think your attempt to deflective was without an clear answer? Geez, is that the best you can do?

What is it with you people? I swear, why is it that any time some one takes a point of view that is not squarely in the haters category, so many of you folks reply with "Since you think Obama is so great..."

If I had a nickel for each time hear this from you haters I would be as rich as Romney.

Who said ANYTHING whatsoever about how great Obama is? Are you people delusional and hearing voices or what?

Thanks, I'll be here all week. Try the Veal.

  5. Gpruitt54, Are you pro-2A or pro-Obama? I have no doubt Obama is a highly intelligent man. But his political ideals are far too left for me and most here on GT. His Blue Dot Green Dot mandate was the last straw. Telling people where they have to live based on skin color is beyond Communist. Telling hard working people they have to pay child support and alimony to women they didn't wed and children they didn't father seems to be the Democrats' party platform. It's not solving the poverty problem in the US. It's enabling it.

I understand that we live in an extremely politically polarized United States. There is pressure to take an all no nothing stance politically on everything. I don’t agree with that, I am in somewhere center-left.

Your question seems preconditioned to the idea that one must be on one of the extremes. I am pro 2nd amendment; why else would I be on a Glock Forum. I have more than one firearm, I reload my own ammo, I own an AR, and I have more than one conceal carry permit, and I use them daily (No, I am not a police officer). I am NOT a right-winger. In fact, I disagree with most of what the right stands for. I also disagree (and I’ve written to the Whitehouse with my disagreement many times) with many of Obama’s positions and actions. But, I believe Obama is far better equipped for the presidency than Cheney/Bush ever was. I believe that Cheney held the power and Bush was simply a monkey on a leash.

Look at what has happened under Cheney/Bush. 911, the total butt-**** in Iraq, and the mortgage melt-down (to name but a few). This country still suffers from the inept leadership of Cheney/Bush. Our homes are individually worth hundreds of thousands less than they would have been if the mortgage melt down had not happened. Iraq is turning into God knows what, a result of Cheney/Bush attacking (This country had never started a war until Cheney/Bush) and destabilizing that country. The land of the free, and home of the brave is now a complete surveillance state, programs all started by Cheney/Bush.

The right can ***** and moan about healthcare, Benghazi, Socialism, blah… blah… all day long. But, under Right wing so-called leadership we continue to suffer the aftermath. Right-wing action and political philosophy has been a disaster for this country.

I was not planning to “go rouge” in my response to you but, I kind of got carried away. I guess I’ll have to address the other things you talk about in another thread.

  7. That's cool. Just wondered where you're coming from. I agree with your post. That's why Obama won twice. America was scared to death of four more years of W policies. Now we can't wait for 2016.

At least we have a belief in the 2nd amendment in common. I’m assuming you are also on this Glock forum because you enjoy firearms. Right? I don't want to appear mean spirited in these conversations and I try to have fun with these on occasion.

  9. You're right about that. Wife and I have a small collection and we both carry. I might not always completely agree with your posts but I do find them interesting and thought provoking. There's a lot I disagree with in both parties. For me it's like choosing my favorite Menendez brother every four years. I'm a registered Republican, pro 2A and a union tradesman so for me it's not an easy decision. I'm my own conundrum.

There are those who get things done though leadership, character and merit, then there are those who get things done through agitation, manipulation and slight of hand.

Does Obama qualify to be president,...yes president of the N.R.A...he has sold more guns and ammo in the last 6 years than anyone would have ever thought possible! On the down side that is all that he has done to benefit our country.

    "Hi....uh....uh....welcome to......uh....uh.....Walgreens!....uh.....uh....I mean.....uh....Walmart!"

"Qualities"? I don't know. I don't think we know anything about him that is genuine.
I believe he has the ability, backing and motivation to ruin this country.
I'm fairly certain that he is NOT qualified to be president of this great land....
    1. He was ONLY a community organizer and state senator, for a short time.
    2. Whether or not he has a genuine US birth certificate, he did not submit it, with all proper paperwork, to all states, in order to get on the ballot, yet he was on the ballot.
    3. He has demonstrated NO presidential qualities or concern for the well being of THESE UNITED STATES.
    4. I believe he is not a citizen, but a Marxist, foreign exchange student, whose tuition was paid by Bill Ayers' father.

Didn't we answer this already? Once in 2008, and then again in 2012. Sure, let's just run it back and limit the pool of respondents to those who own a firearm. That should make us all feel better.

This guy has zero leadership skills. The man is not and never will be a leader. Speaking of egos this guy has one of the biggest i have ever seen. I will be very glad when he leaves the wh. This is what you get when the media never vetted him and made him there golden boy. Obama is even weaker than carter was.

Just saw the discussion...I recently came across this letter of the parents of a fallen Navy Seal, if anyone is interested...

    Laura

Letter from the parents of Aaron Carson Vaughn of SEAL Team VI: Please resign, Mr. President

    Special to WorldTribune.com
    Billy and Karen Vaughn
After finally choosing to view the barbaric, on-camera beheading by ISIS of freelance war correspondent James Foley, I have been left with a level of rage known only to those of us who have sacrificed unspeakable offerings on the altar of world peace.
My offering was my only son — Aaron Carson Vaughn. Aaron was a member of SEAL Team VI. He was killed in action when a CH47D Chinook, carrying thirty Americans and eight Afghans was shot down in the Tangi River Valley of Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011.
[IMG]Many times over the past three years, I have been asked what drove my son to choose his particular career. What made him want to be a Navy SEAL? My answer is simple.
Aaron Vaughn was a man who possessed the courage to acknowledge evil. And evil, once truly acknowledged, demands response. Perhaps this is why so few are willing to look it in the eye. It is much simpler — much safer — to look the other way.
That is, unless you are the leader of the Free World.
As Commander-in-Chief, your actions — or lack thereof — Mr. President, cost lives. As you bumble about in your golf cart, slapping on a happy face and fist-pounding your buddies, your cowardly lack of leadership has left a gaping hole — not only in America’s security — but the security of the entire globe. Your message has come across loud and clear, sir: You are not up to this job. You know it. We know it. The world knows it.
Please vacate the people’s house and allow a man or woman of courage and substance to seize the reigns of this out-of-control thug-fest and regain the balance we, America, have provided throughout our great history.
Thanks to your “leadership” from whatever multi-million dollar vacation you happen to be on at any given moment, the world is in chaos. What’s been gained, you’ve lost. What’s been lost, you’ve decimated. You’ve demolished our ability to hold the trust of allies. You’ve made a mockery of the title “President.” And you’ve betrayed the nation for which my son and over 1.3 million others have sacrificed their very lives.
But this should come as no surprise, since your wife uttered a vile statement on Feb. 18, 2008, during the primary campaign — one that speaks volumes of your true convictions. “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country,” she said.
I am sure my deceased son thanks you for that, Mrs. Obama. Oh, and you’re welcome.

Never in my lifetime have I witnessed such despair and such growing fear that the world’s last best hope, America, has finally been dismantled. Perhaps the better word is transformed — fundamentally transformed. Come to think of it, it’s become difficult — if not impossible — to believe things haven’t gone exactly as you planned, Mr. President.
Amazingly, in five short years, your administration has lurched from one disaster to another. You spearheaded the ambitious rush to end the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan — with no plan on how to do so effectively. Also, the release of “the Taliban five” in exchange for one American — without consulting Congress — is on your shoulders.
You have been at the helm during unprecedented national security leaks — including, but not limited to the outing of SEAL Team VI on the Bin laden raid, the outing of the Pakistani doctor who provided the intelligence for that raid, the outing of Afghanistan’s CIA station chief, and the outing of your personal “kill list” to make you look tough. In addition, 75 percent of American deaths in Afghanistan and 83 percent of Americans-wounded-in-action have occurred on your watch, according to icasualties.org.
And now, we have this recent, heinous event: the beheading of an American citizen by a barbaric organization you foolishly referred to as “the JV team” in your statements to the New Yorker magazine in January.
You, sir, are the JV team. It’s time for you to step down and allow a true leader to restore our honor and protect our sons and daughters.
America has always been exceptional. And she will be again. You, Mr. President, are a bump in our road.

I know we are about half way through his second chance to destroy our nation, but my answer is undoubtedly, absolutely, not a snow balls chance in Hell, NO!
I remember walking in the door from voting in 2008 to seen McCain was cowering in the corner giving his concession speech before any poles had even closed. I remember telling my kids to pray for our nation because the enemy had just been allowed in the door to our white house. Here we are in 2014. My kids know I was right.
