As I'm painting my finger- and toenails for the umpteenth time, I'm wondering....do men even see this stuff? Do they even notice? Do they even CARE? (God knows women do, but that's a different story)

I'd ask hubby, but he's pretty much colorblind.

Honestly, some do and some don't. The Mrs. asks me about new colors and such. And I do the 7 yr old twins nails on occasion.

It's just one of those little nuances that make the total package. You bet, we notice.

Thanks for the reminder. I haven't given the better half near the compliments she should get lately.

Unless I'm really focused on their hands/feet (cutting off shoes, starting IVs, doing assessments, etc), no. Even then, probably not.

Thick coats will get my attention when trying to get cap refil or SpO2 though.

I'm a mechanic, so one of the first things I look at when I meet someone new is the hands.

That said, I'll notice they're coated, or whatever, but don't expect us to notice you changed.

    Nope, unless it's really unusual.

Toenails? Not so much unless A) Someone has a foot fetish or B) There is something really attention grabbing about them.

Fingernails? Yes, but not always in a good way. Those 3" to 6" (or longer), crazy nails that are generally favored by Dolly Parton and certain ethnic minorities, not so much. A nice, tasteful French manicure may indicate someone who takes care of themselves or at least cares about their appearance.

Not like me, I chew all my nails off, especially my toenails.....

I guess if someone winds up in the ER with dark nail polish, you'll look for dusky/purple lips instead. :embarassed:

I do know that before every (multiple frigging) surgery I've had, I was told to not wear any colored polish.

Just my opinion, but it's not in the top ten things that can make a woman beautiful. In other words...rarely.

    Honestly...get ready for a disappointment.

MEN...dont care about nail polish, or a pedi, or a mani, or waxed eyebrows, lipstick, eye liner, purfume. Sadly men are 5x less critical of the opposite sex than women are.

A woman sees a well dressed man, groomed and perfected and thinks "mmmmm".

A man sees a attractive woman in PJ pants, a tank top with bed head , he thinks "mmmm".

why? a scientific fact proves that women have a certain pheromone that they put off that attracts men. Its part of the mating cycle.

And while having a woman that is glamed up is nice....its not a requirement :)

so to be blunt. You can spend 3 hours painting your nails......we wont notice. Also the same reason why so many men get in trouble when their significant other gets a haircut......we just dont notice. Because thats not the qualities that attract us. Sorry :/ lol

AND NO were not only attracted to boobs butts and legs either! :tongueout:

I do...particularly the fancy ones. But then I'm very observant about most things; especially a woman who takes good care of herself.

edited to add: I always look at a woman's hands for other reasons as well. You can tell a lot about a woman from her hands, in particular her age.

Yup, prefer the French manicure or the softer subtle pinks, reds and lavenders. No black, blue or artwork.
