i like my gen 2 22 alot, but I don't have a gen 3 version of the same gun to compare, I do own gen 3s and the grips on both gens fit me well, but for some reason I would like to get a gen 2 19...

guess that means i do like them/all glocks

I hate the finger grooves on gen3's, wish Glock would return to the straight front strap that gen2's had. Otherwise, gen3's are probably an over all improvement, with light rails, better chamber support, etc.

The only Gen 2 I had was a late gen 2 1997 G22. I like the Gen 3s better, that is why I no longer have that 22. To each his own.

Got a G19 gen 2 with Pachmayr grip sleeve to get finger grooves. Don't own the gen 3, but love the grooves on it and the light rail. Would I trade for a Gen 3, yup.

I prefer not having the finger grooves both for grip feel and visual appeal.

I don't really use the light rail that much. I have a gen 3 G19 on nightstand with X300. Other than that it doesn't matter to me.

I like both gen 2 and gen 3 a lot. I think the gen 2 looks better. I think the Gen 2 G19 looks a lot better than the Gen 3.:dunno:

Yes, the gen2 feels better in my hand. Therefore I shoot it better.

Yes, I have had six Gen 3 19s, then had two Gen 4 19s (I liked the smaller grip option of the Gen 4, both of mine were 100% reliable, and continue to be for my friend who owns them now.)

I currently have three Gen 2 19s, I REALLY like the no finger groove grip option of the Gen 2s.

I like the Gen 2's better because of the feel of the grip. I shoot them all about the same.

I like Gen1 over either, but absolutely prefer Gen2 over Gen3 in 9mm. I prefer to form my own grip, and not the grip dictated by finger grooves and thumbrests. A Gen2 G17 with a Lone Wolf Quik Grip sleeve is a perfect combination - for me. It provides a stable grip platform even if my hands are sweaty. I also rock out occasionally with a Gen2 G19. No grip sleeve required - it fits right as-is with a bare frame. The Gen1 grip texture has a great feel to it, though. Like I said, it's my overall favorite. The Gen2 frame with the Lone Wolf sleeve feels like an enhanced version of the Gen1 frame.

In the G21, for me, the opposite is true. The Gen3 grip frame in .45ACP/10mm DOES fit my hand perfectly - in a way the 9mm/.40-sized guns don't. My shooting-hand thumb curls-down nicely in the left-side thumbrest on the G21. Nice and stable.

Not for nothin', it's no accident that LE trade-in Gen2 G17's and G19's are so scarce.

  17. My friend and I both like the grip of my Gen 2 G23 better than our Gen 3 G19's.

I shoot both of my Gen 2 19s better than any gun I've ever owned including a Gen 3 I sold. I just like the grip better. It feels like it was made for my hand. I think of the end of the movie "Videodrome". :wavey:
