DirectX Issue when trying to play SWAT 3

Discussion in 'Tech Talk' started by -gunut-, Feb 28, 2007.

  1. I go to start it and get this message:

    DirectX DDERR_GENERIC

Anyone know what this is or how it can be fixed? I am running 32bit vista

  2. Some games don't work properly with Vista.

  3. I have looked around and people have had no problem with this on Vista.

  4. I'm not big on games but that message I seem to remember used to have something to do with the copy protection on the game disk.I haven't used Vista. There is a very recent version of DirectX but I subspect Vista has it unless it was a bug fix for Vista.

  5. Thanks I will try that out

  6. Downloaded it and it still does not work. It gives me that message right before the opening video.

  7. Is the game on the original disk?

  8. Maybe a different video driver would help.

  9. Yeah it is on original disc. I reinstalled my video card drivers a few weeks ago. So far all my games work fine except this and on BF2 special forces it says cannot find shaders. I don't worry about it much since I am planning on buying a new video card.
