I've always been intimidated to detail strip any of my 1911's. But last night I grabbed one of my Rock Island's and went to town. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. The sear/disconnector reinstall can be a little tricky, but that was the hardest part and even that wasn't too bad. Now I guess I'll do it over and over again until it becomes second nature. I didn't want to do it to any of my Kimbers until I got it down pretty good. I've always contemplated on getting the RIA I was working on hardchromed at some point, so if I scratch it, I won't be too mad. But, no scratches, at least on the first try. Now to take her to the range and make sure I did it right
