Hi all.

As I'm switching over to 9mm I ordered some of THIS. I think this is what everyone is recommending but just wanted to make sure. I thought I saw different kinds of Speer 124gr.

    Thanks.

IF gold dot is indeed what you're after for your 9mm, the 124gr +P is a decent choice. Look online for 50round boxes of it. You'll pay twice as much per round with the 20 round boxes.

I could only find the 20rd boxes in stock at Natchezss. I just wanted enough for now to shoot some and load up a few mags for carry and the house. This is all I could find at the moment. After reading another thread, I guess doubletap uses the same bullets but just loads them a tad hotter?

And if +P isn't available the standard pressure 124-grain Gold Dot is a fine round also.

There are a number of excellent 9mm premium self-defense JHP rounds available, one of the great things about the caliber.

I agree with DRT. The difference in price between the 20 and 50 round boxes really pisses me off. Yeah I know that civilians pay an extra tax that LE doesn't have to pay but that does not come close to explaining the difference in price.

FWIW, http://www.ammoman.com/webstore_9mm.htm has some 124gr GDHP right now. Scroll down to find the GD offerings. You can also find it from time to time elsewhere but usually only when some agency cancels a big order and then the distributors are allowed to sell the LE boxes to us lowly taxpaying citizens.
