I was attempting to install an extended slide lock release lever on my 19. While trying to pound out the pin that holds it in the frane the punch slipped and I drove it into the slot just below the take down release leaving a round punch hole in the same area.

Slide release levers work fine and slide comes off with no prob. It just looks buggered up. As it widened the slot just below the left take down release into a round whole, I suppose there is no way to restore the polymere back back to the way it was ???
  2. Why were you trying to pound the pin out? It comes out with a gentle push of a punch tool. Wiggle the lever while you push until the pin frees up.

As for the "battle scar", keep it as a reminder to read the manual before disassembling a gun. Even a simple gun like Glock.

Oh, and welcome to GlockTalk. :wavey:

    Dumb or accident.

    Polymer is not self healing.

    O and learn.
