Since I received no forum response, I called Trijicon and asked which color provides better daylight contrast against white steel targets, like those used in IPDA or USPSA. Their response was orange. Validation question to this forum: Has anyone shot white steel during the day with the orange HD. Was there "enough contrast" against white? Does it wash out? Or was it "just ok?"

I've used an orange Hackathorn front sight against white, black and gray painted steel with no problems.
