If you were buying for EDC would you buy the Dan Wesson Guardian (45) with Five Year Warranty or the S&W SW1911SC with Lifetime Warranty?
    Thanks!

No question.... the DW. The poor design on the non-E series S&W's EEs alone is reason to stay away. Hilton Yam does a nice job explaining why they become problematic over time.

I have a S&W SC, because I couldn't find a DW, no problems with the Smith, but MD357 comment about poor design, have me worried now.

FWIW, I met a guy once that said he had ~250K( ) through his SC. Now the gun looked every bit of it, frame was cracked, it had seen better days and he said it had been back to S&W twice for replacement parts. I shot the gun, again it was really rough, and I have a tough time believing that round count but it was obviously a REALLY high round count gun either way and it worked perfectly.

    So ya never know....

yes, 250K is a very high count, I don't think I have fired that many rounds, counting all my guns, and have been shooting since 15, not as much as I would like though. Thanks

250,000 rounds is 1,000 a week for almost 5 years. That is a lot of shooting.
