Based on advice I got here and from Cycleforms, I got a pair of Frey Daytona Urban boots.

    http://www.helimot.com/catalog/boots/boots_urban_data.shtml

I ordered them in April and received them in August. :) No biggie, I am between bikes anyway.

The instruction manual recommends treatment with FD's special boot care liquid. Unfortunately, as FD is a German outfit they only have one US dealer (that I know of), which is helimot.com. Helimot does not carry the FD boot care liquid.

I realize it's best to stick with the manufacturer's recommendations but in this case it does not seem like I can get the recommended stuff. Recommendations as to alternate (i.e. available in the USA) boot care solutions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There's no mention of what kind of leather it is, but from the picture, I'd say a good wipedown and the occasional mink oil treatment would do it.

Thanks. The instruction manual says it's either cow or calf hide.
