Taking the South Carolina CWP class this weekend.
Have fun with it and above all else, be safe.
goodluck! and stay safe.
Just picked up some rounds for the qualification. Wal-Mart in West Columbia had some remington 9mm.
100% on the test 100% on the qualification. Now for the wait.
That's excellent!! I have mine in NC next weekend (3/13). I actually got to meet the instructor while I was at the range last week. He said I would have no problem passing the range portion if I did as well as I was doing that night.
Any suggestions for the course material?
I'm not sure about the NC test, but the SC wasn't too bad. As long as you pay attention in class you will be fine. In SC they go over basic pistol parts and operation, general gun safety, SC & Federal laws, then the qualification. The qualification is basically hit or miss, no points scoring on the target.
Congrats, S.C. definately takes its time getting the permit to you. It took 86 days for mine to get to me.
Coming up on 90 days now. Hopefully it will come in this week.
I got mine in the mail on the 12th of last month, took a total of 85 days.
Wikki, where did you take your class?
Mine was 90 days exactly, to the issue date. I'm sure they could process them more quickly, but they CAN take up to 90 days, and they DO. Just gotta go with it.
Welcome to the armed citizenry.
I took the class from Joe & Janet Katz. They are great folks. http://paladin.busman.com/
My return receipt is dated March 10th, so it should be here any day now.
Florida sent theirs back in about 2 weeks.
Well my SC CWP came today - 99 days after my class!
Now start the deliberations for just the right pistol to conceal carry. The good ol' G17 is a bit on the large size.
The G26, G27 or G36 are some good choices to look at.
I got mine 91 days after the class. Been carrying my Ruger LCP just about everywhere since!
Went with the G26 and am well pleased. Now the vexing cc holster issue raises its ugly head!
Sidearmor has served me well all the years I have carried.
congrats on the CC permits. i'm 22 years old and have been getting more and more familiar with my g22 and was looking to try and obtain my CWP. anyone know of any classes for under $75? $50? if not i may just end up regestering for a class at shooters choice.
