I have a little saturday night spercial revolver that I am wanting to cut the barrel down on. Is it ok to do this? And if so how short can it be cut? Thanks in advance.

yes, a rifle bbl cant be shorter than 16".. if it is, you must then register it with the ATF as a short barrel rifle. A pistol bbl can be done but a rule of thumb is nothing less than 2 3/4 inch... muzzle blast and gas pressures are dangerous the shorter it is... BE CAREFUL....

Pistols can be as short as you can handle it. S&W makes J frames in 1 7/8.
