    Sounds to good to be true...There is no Palm City Police Dept in Fl. Palm City is under Martin County Sheriff's jurisdiction. Sounds like a urban legend.

    Man, I see two errors just in the first paragraph!

    1. Palm City is about 20K, not 200K.

    2. Palm City is not "in the middle of the panhandle". It's south of Port St. Lucie and north of Jupiter on the Atlantic Ocean! http://www.google.com/maps?q=Palm+City,+FL,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title

    As well, hasn't Florida had statewide preemption for several decades.:shocked:
