What advantages or benefits do the the Arredondo Muzzle Platforms do for both the CR Speed(WSM)and Safariland 0112 Holsters?Do they really make drawing your pistol quicker from the holsters above?

el prez: I have the CR Speed and Safariland 011 and I have arredondo muzzle platforms on both.

the arredondo muzzle platform does not offer a quicker draw, but it makes the holster safer bec. the nipple is inserted in the barrel. if somebody accidentally knocks your pistol from behind (the grip area) the platform nipple can prevent your pistol from falling out. i've seen a lot of pistols get knocked out using the muzzle cup of the CR Speed and the curved insert in the safariland. This is specially true with the safariland 011 and 012 holsters.

1st of all, thanks for the shirt!

on the cr speed muzzle platform, i think its possible to use tox(toks?) screw for a nipple. but i have yet to try that.

in the meantime, i will wait for the wizard who is currently conjuring a spell to fashion out a pinkish nipple for my holster;z

I'm experimenting using silicon for the nipple ;f

i had a cr speed and never had a problem with retention. i now have a 011 and on holster retention tests no problems to date.

on another development the holster retention test for stages is now non existant. the new rulebook removed the test since its useless. competitors just lock down their holsters when they shoot the stage with the test.

as for increasing draw speed. i dont think it will help. me personally with my 011, i can hit the a zone at 5 yards in .7-.8 seconds.

    i did a .55-.5 on a 3 yard target but not consistently.

if i will do it again ill stick with a cr speed since it looks tougher. but safariland service rocks so im having double thoughts. I broke my spacer on my 011 and sent an email. 3 weeks later i receive the spacer plus an extra one, plus the whole locking block for free. they shipped the item to the Phils for free!
