I am really wanting to get involved in my workplace, community, etc. I would like to become CPR and AED certified. Maybe more. But where do I start?

Starting at your FD is a good suggestion. Some cities offer it through parks and rec. Here is the link to some American Heart classes. Look around their site and you can find other instructors. This link just lets you find already scheduled classes.

You could also suggest a class at work if your employer is the type to do that sort of thing. Your church or a scout group might also be a good place to get people together. If you were closer, I'd teach you the class myself.

Your local Red Cross should do the CPR/AED training - if you get in on a group class I think they charge you $5 or something - well worth it.
