That was awesome, thx for the link.
I was watching that game. And yes, the ball was flying from both sides. But I think that has a lot to do that it was hot, and that they were playing in Great American Smallpark, rather than corking, or any other type of cheating. I mean, both sides were having the same luck when they were making contact with the ball.
I'm beginning to wonder...
The "long ball" brings excitement to the games themselves as well as exciting replays and highlights later the same evening on the news. We know steroid enhanced players sold tickets in the past. They would also have homer and RBI duels throughout the season, which kept the game in the limelight and a lot of seats filled.
After the last couple of days in MLB... I'm beginning to wonder myself.
with a million dollar pay check at risk...i'd cheat anyway i could.
Left and right field are indeed much smaller than riverfront stadium/cinergy field.
Why does that video lead you to think the bat was corked. Serious question, I'm no baseball aficionado.
If you made a million dollars, would you steal your neighbor's wifi?
I think most people here do not realise the difference temperature makes.
I the 90s? The ball will LEAP off the bat. In the 60s? You can get great contact with full rotation, and it will stay in the park.
Less air density, more elasticity in the ball.
There was a recent multipage thread dealing with the ethical issues of stealing unprotected wifi.
your down-rigger is too deep, hook too small, bait too stale and is that house paint on that boat?
Persaonally, I'd rather see a well executed double play than a HR.
So exactly what makes you think it was a corked bat? And what makes you think a corked bat would make a difference?
Neither is PW. He just likes to make unsupportable assertions. Watch as he completely fails to answer your questions.
If you've ever hit a great ball in baseball or golf, sometimes connecting isn't about strength but speed and timing. Never hit a long ball, but plenty of golf shots where I barely felt the ball. Perfect connection means a long ball, whether your hands are still powering after or not.
I say give them aluminum bats. Who's with me?
Yea, they're cheating, again, and who cares? Just remember, it's a game, they're not actively engaged in stealing our rights one law at a time are they? I couldn't care less what the pro sports teams do, I don't support them in any way, shape, or form.
Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day
How would a corked bat make that happen? Please educate us as to what corking does.
