Last Dec 14,2006 four Scout Ranger trained policemen lived out the motto of the defunct Phil.Constabulary of "Always outnumbered but never out fought" by standing their ground and fighting ferociously against 30 NPA terrorist who attacked their police outpost at around 10pm and lasted for 30 minutes in Brgy San Jose Sipalay.
10 km from the Sipalay city proper. the 30 min gunbattle was led by
PO1 JOSELITO BANDIOLA,ABRAHAM JOLINGAN,RAFFY BILLONES and JULYSESS CATALOGO.

They were only armed with 2 rifles and 2 handguns with limited ammo. They were told to surrender but they decided to shoot it out with the rebels. they were blasted with M203 grenade lauchers, 10 which failed to explode.

Kudos to the PNP for a job well done and standing their ground.

Dud grenades, hahaha, naluko yang mga NPAs. Mag order na lang sila ng Chicom RPGs mas epektibo pa.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the M203 lauched failed to detonate, according to the report. It was either that the M203s were dud or the distance of 35 meters was not reached when the grenades hit, that's why they failed to arm.

I agree, I was never fond of M16/M203 rifles. They're too heavy. Rifle grenades fired with standard M16's are much better and much more powerful. I'd rather have squad armed with standard rifles and distribute the rifle grenades to those who has M16s than have those ineffective and heavy M203 grenade launchers in my squad.

The RGs have a better coverage than the M203. Kaso lang, they're quite dangerous to launch. After you take the plastic cap off, you have to check the red tip if it's protruding. If the tip is protruding, you are prohibited to launch the projectile, or it will detonate in front of you. The red tip is supposed to extend after launching the RG.

A rifle grenade can be launched to about 60 meters max.
