Mass, in a very recent thread you and the original poster discussed how using a different size bullet for a pistol could change the point of impact. I am confused, not an expert by any means, and would like to understand this. How can a smaller size bullet change the point of impact by around 6" over 20 yards? Surely the difference in drop due to drag and gravity is miniscule over that short a distance. Assuming of course, that the pistol is aimed the same way each time.
Help me out here, what am I missing?

Ranger, 6" would be a lot of difference in point of aim/point of impact at 20 yards. More likely to be seen at 50 with conventional calibers.

Might get that much if you were, say, comparing an exotic very light/very fast load against point of aim/point of impact for a heavy, slow load in the same gun.
