Well it looks like I'll be a proud owner of one of these shortly. Anyone else have one of these? What are your thoughts?

I have the XSE Lightweight Commander.

Some of the cosmetics that I don't care about: front slide serration, ambidextrous safety lever (the right lever scratches the frame), and full length guide rod. Easy change out.

Shoot the gun with various loads and brands of ammo to make sure it doesn't shoot low. Mine shot about 3" low at 7-ds all the way to 25-yds. I swapped out the rear Novak (it's a damn shame because Novak sights are sweet) for 10-8 rear sight to bring the point of impact up.

I have a Series 70 Colt Commander that has been gone over by Novaks. Finished in Black-T. Love the Commanders.

I've got an XSE commander and it's my most used pistol. I've never had a problem with that and Wilson mags. I've probably got around 2500 rounds through it.

My Colt mag didn't last long even with Wilson guts.

That's a good price. Not a spectacular price, but a good price.

I love Bac's guide which made me get it. I think all the 1911 manufacturers should give him some sort of commission :)

I wish that BAC would do the same for the exotic handguns.

Happy for you. I have one and find I like to carry a Commander or CCO more than a full size 1911.
