I have a question about the older LE6920 I bought mine just after the AWB lifted and was something I rarely seen at the time. It is the reason why I bought it. Well I've owned the rifle for some years now and figured today was a good time to bring it in to the local gun for a good cleaning of the gas tube. 10 minutes later they called me to come pick up my rifle because I wasn't law enforcement and when I got there they started to ask me if the rifle was full auto... They said that colt puts some kind of block on the Safety switch and mine didn't have one. I know that it doesn't shoot auto or burst so my question is what are they talking about?? And why would they question the Restricted markings now? Anyways The weird thing about it is I've had them work on this rifle before and no questions asked. So after telling them that they said they would work on it. Should I be worried that when I go pick it up the cops will be there to pick me up? If they questioned the markings what would the local police department think?

    1. Sounds like you ran into an idiot.

    2. There's no need to clean the gas tube.

Especially if they're telling him he needs to get his gas-tube cleaned.

What's next, his blinker fluid needs to filled??:rofl:

I guess I never knew it didn't need to be cleaned I've had the rifle for so many years and shot an uncountable number of rounds thru it. I just figured it needed a good cleaning by now. But I'm glad I'm the only one to think the guy was goofy for questioning me.

62,000 PSI will keep your tube clean all by itself.

Yep, find a new shop to deal with. Not being rude, but that kind of info is basic stuff (gas tube cleaning and the Colt issue) that any gun shop should know.

Not rude at all it's why I ask you guys first. The gas tube was turning black on the outside so that's why I took the time to bring it in. The am I law enforcement question made me kind of mad.

This is the dumbest gun shop story I have ever heard before.

And no - no one gives a crap if your gun says Oncology Patients Only on the side. When you go to pick up your gun make sure to call them dopes. I sure as hell would.

On second thought maybe that shop should call the ATF 1-800-HOLYCRAP number. Probably worth a good laugh as they learn there are hundreds of thousands of these guns out there on the market and one of the most common milspec available to the public.

So much fail in that shop. They are FUD idiots.
