    Muskogee Ok.
The Springfield 1911 I traded for had, had a Kimber beavertail and thumb safety dropped in, no fitting at all. We have a local gun smith that is supposed to be very good, anywho I had him check out my SA and he gave it a clean bill of health, he said it's as safe as they come. That's good news. I figured it was safe, but I thought I better have someone that knows what the hell is going on look at it:supergrin:

I thought Springfield used a proprietary cut for their grip safeties.

    Somewhere in the air.
If you aren't sure, it's always best to have a qualified gunsmith check out your firearm before you head to the range with an ALICE Pack full of Winchester White Box. I'm happy your Springer is "hale and hearty"!

I figured it was, it passed all the safety tests, but I just wanted to be 150% sure:supergrin:

You ready to trade that one in on a glock now okie? :)

  8. The rear tangs on the Springfield used to be thinner (top to bottom) than a Colt.

Smith & Alexander make a BT grip safety that's designed for a .220" radius to better fit those thinner tangs.

Most others use a .250" radius, although I think Wilson uses some sort of compound curve that's proprietary.
