    My parents had a 63 Impala way back when. When my dad and I went to Goodguys this year, my Dad was pointing out every early to mid 60's Impala he saw. I can tell he misses that car.

    They just don't make them like they used to.

    That is awesome man!!! Gotta be proud of that ride.
    Do you do any shows? I go to a lot of shows in the summer with my ride. Check my sig out to see pics of my Camaro. I have done shows for 3 summers now and have won several trophies. I am not really in it for the trophies but just like driving it to the different places. There is nothing like getting a group of people together and driving the hot rods though the little towns and watching the people giving you the thumps up!!

    I am drooling dude!!!!! That is one hot Chevelle!!! And I love the orignal plates too. Missouri will also let you use orignal plates for historic motor vehicles.

    My Camaro has a stroked 305 out of a '76 Chevelle with the original matched numbers 3 speed tranny and open 3.08 rer end. Every thing in the drive train has been rebuilt also. It is not real fast off the line but I like the high gears in the back for highway driving. Makes it a bit better on gas mileage. I drive mine everywhere we go.

    My last car was a classic in PA, but nowhere near that classic. Real sweet ride you have!:cool:

    Here's my 84 Corvette I just sold. Going to buy a newer C4 (92-96) very soon.

    Hi there. You have a great looking 72 Clone.

    I also have a 72 clone but it is just now ready for paint. I have upgraded from auto to the M22 Muncie "rock crusher" close ratio 4 speed-but the gears in the rearend are 2.73's.

    When I taxi it around the driveway from time to time I can tell those gears are way too high and I almost have to slip the clutch to get it rolling. I was curious how those 3.08's you have are treating you?

    What speeds can I expect from gears 1-4 if I went that ratio. My dad suggests I go with a 3.73 gear with a new posi carrier. He used to have a camaro with that M22 and 3.73's and he said it was the sweet spot of not "too low" and not "too high.

    Just figured Id ask you for input since you obviously know what you are doing if you have such a nice Chevelle.

    67 chevelle SS 396 with t400, 12 bolt rear w/ 3.73 posi, power front disk brakes and fresh paint. Engine is on a stand behind me in the house right now, I have the shortblock together, just need to button it up and put it back into the car. The restoration was recently restarted after five years of complete neglect.

    I feel compelled to say this just once, and then I won't bug you guys about it any more.

    If it was not built between 1925 and 1948 it aint a classic because that is the classic era. Last certified classic is a 1948 Packard light eight. The cut off date used to be 1941, but they started running out of potential mambers, so they upped the cut-off to 1948.

    I'm sure they will up it again, but they will have a hard time choosing, maybe the Jeepster, the four door Kaiser convertibles, and maybe, just maybe, stuff like the very early Vettes, the MkII Continental. the Chrysler Crown Imperials, and maybe the Cadillac El Dorado Brougham (1957 and 58).
