Hey all, I was able to get out and do a little shooting before the Christmas festivities with the fairly decent weather we've been having and chronied a few types of 40 call ammo. All rounds were fired from my Gen 2 G23 with only about 1k through the pipe, it was rested on top of a 50 cal can on a bench. The ZQ4355 grouped the best followed by the RA40T, all others grouped acceptably (for me anyways). All rounds cycled and locked the slide back perfectly, the velocities were recorded @ 10' from the muzzle, the range was 20 yards. The XM40HC does appear to be a step faster than the other 180 grain loads but, no less controllable.

  2. Thanks for posting. I have a new G23 and just bought a case of XM40HC intending it to be my carry ammo. Looks good here.

I chrono'd the xm40hc and xm40ha out of my G22. My hc numbers were around 1050 fps. With the longer barrel that makes sense. The ha's were in the 1200 fps area.
