We're getting a post-apocalyptic preview of America if "O" gets re-elected. I guess R Emanuel thought all he had to do was show up......kinda like his ole buddy "O".
Half the Nation wants everything free and the other half is buying guns.....tick,tick,tick.

In short, teachers unions are threatening to, or are already, striking. They've been offered a 12% pay raise over 3 years and that is apparently not good enough.

I hate to defend anyone doing anything in Chicago, but I'll promise you it isn't about the money. Its about the teach evaluation system. Politicians across the country are screwing teachers over with new "performance based" evaluation systems. These sound great in theory but are disaster's in implementation.

My state has just implemented such a system and its a cluster...

My kid's school has multiple classes in each grade level. The two BEST teachers are disliked by the school administrator who assigns students to their classes at the start of the year. Guess which teachers received the behavior problems, special ed students, and medical needs kids (with no reduction in class size or provision of an aid). Next door, another teacher who socializes more than he/she teaches, was given the children of the teachers who have children at the school. When these new "performance" evaluations are done, which classes are going to make their teacher LOOK the best? Teachers are defenseless against this sort of thing.

I just had a friend lamblast me on unions and how she as a teacher needs them. Freakin' joke. Get rid of all them and give me my tax money back since I don't have kids.

To add insult to injury, a lot of the non-teachers (janitors, cafeteria, etc.) are reporting for half days so that the kids on the free school meals program can still eat free breakfast and lunch. Why can't the parent's of these children feed them a bowl of cereal?

Give everyone back their tax money, including those who have school-age children. Let them choose where they want to go and pay for it directly. Can't afford it? Get rid of the sail foam and quit depending on others to raise your children.

These two teachers need to find a good private school. They might not make as much but they'll surely be happier.

Stop today, their pay, retirement benefits, and cancel their health insurance.
They are playing rough and in my opinion, asking for it.

Don't worry.....Obama will host another "beer summit" or otherwise find a way to "ride to the rescue" just in time to save the day.
I wouldn't be surprised if the whole situation was already a done-deal.....and they're all just waiting for the right time to have the savior arrive.
Afterall, Obama needs the support of unions and the unions need to have him re-elected.
It has NOTHING to do with the children. It rarely ever does.
