    Hey folks,

Just passing on the latest in semi-official rumors from Chicago.

Word from the Ivory Tower is that CFD will have a test for FF's sometime this year. Last test was in 1995, before that 1985.

No specifics yet. Don't know if EMT-B is required (probably not, will cause "affirmative action" issues). City residency will be required on first day of Academy. No word on whether college credit is required (Chicago Police Dept now require 60 credit hours). Veterans normally get 5 preference points on Chicago competitions.

More info as I get it.

I heard the same thing, I'm really considering going for it. Definitely not a bad gig, you only work 1/3 of the year and get paid to sleep!

    (dons nomex) Fire away! ;f
