I have an M&P9 compact that i love and want to reload 9mm. I have been reloading 10mm for my Glock 20 and immediately got an aftermarket barrel for better chamber support since i am loading hot 10mm loads. I was wondering how the chamber support in the M&P9s were and if an aftermarket barrel is needed?
  2. The M&P chamber is fully supported so you shouldn't have any issues with reloading. I personally load for my 9L and have had zero problems.

As for after market barrels, I've tried them and have not been impressed. We've been talking with Irv at Bar-Sto about making barrels for the M&P and he's working on it, it's just taking some time, being as they're moving their shop out of The People's Republic of Commiefornia at the moment. I'm told that Irv will have his true Match Grade barrels ready for debut some time around Shot Show 2011.
