When I put my cellphone near the PC every once in a while I get
"beeps" like morse code coming from my speakers, if I move the phone farther away the beeps stop. Anybody got any ideas what kind of signal the phone is sending to make the beeps????

It does it to car stereos as well. Dunno what the signal is saying, but it's the phone talking to the tower.

In a nutshell, its the phone sending its "I am here" signal to the network.

Mine does that too. It does it alot when a text message or a call is coming in. I already have my phone in hand by the time it starts ringing.
