  1. Well last weekend my Dad and I took our class and passed. We both now have our appointment at the Sheriffs Dept. to do the necessary application stuff, then the wait begins. Hope its not to long in Wilkes.

  3. just sent mine off on the 22 of may. hope it doesn't take too long. I know it has to be less than 3 months; however, can anyone give me a estimate of the average waiting time.

I live in NC. When I got my first permit it took 88 days. Renewals have been between 60 and 80 days.

    I live my 21SF too.
  6. Thanks for the encouragement everyone, and congrats to the others in the process. We got or application in on May 22 and they said 4-6 weeks. We'll have to see how that goes. Either way the wait is less than it was a couple weeks ago.

When I got mine, the permit was dated about 2 weeks before the Union County Sheriffs called me. Not sure if it came back early and they just held on to it until then. I think it was around 88 days though.

Mailed mine on April 4th and assume they got it on the 6th. Based on my math this is day 96 (July 11) of no permit (but who's counting) :violin:
  14. i thought that if they haven't contacted you within 90 days then they have to grant you the permit. if it's been 96 days i would call sled and ask about it. it's now been 6 weeks for me so i still have a little over a month. i don't understand why it take so long.

Good news! Just talked to SLED (843-896-7099) and my permit was approved TODAY (is that a coincidence or what?) and that I should receive it in the next couple of days. That should make it somewhere around 110 days.....give or take.

I went to CCW this past Sat. and was told that it would be 69 days to get the permit back. But I have heard others say that it took longer due to the backlog.
